Explore Asian Box

Located at 200 Larkin St in San Francisco, CA, Asian Box offers a fresh and flavorful dining experience with a variety of dishes that cater to a diverse range of tastes. Known for its commitment to quality and sustainability, the restaurant features a menu full of gluten-free options, with one standout being their delicious Banh Mi sandwich. Guests rave about the fast service and welcoming atmosphere, making it an ideal stop before or after an event at the nearby Orpheum Theatre. The family meal deal, priced at $59, includes four entrees, two appetizer rolls, and four cookies, providing excellent value for a group. While the yellow and green curries pack a flavorful kick, they’re not too spicy for most, though perhaps not the best option for young children. Some guests enjoy adding extra sides like the spicy cucumbers for an added zing, and the seating is ample with all-gender restrooms available for comfort. For those visiting the nearby museum, it’s worth noting that Asian Box is a favorite stop on the first Sunday of the month, when the museum offers free entry. The food is always fresh, and the service is top-notch, with staff like Elmar ensuring that every guest feels well taken care of. Whether you're a local or just visiting, Asian Box promises a satisfying meal that will leave you eager to return.

Came here for lunch before a show at the Orpheum. You don't have the pay to just go to in to eat. Ordered a family meal. It's a good deal $59 4 entrees 2 appetizer rolls 4 cookies Added spicy cucumbers. Everything was good. The sauces for the rolls were a little strange. Yellow and green curries have a kick so not for small kids but we enjoyed them. Seating available. Service was fast. All gender restrooms available.

Inside the museum but you can eat here without paying for a ticket, they will give you a sticker to show you’re going to the restaurant. The gluten free banh mi was delicious. Great ratio of pork and pickled veggies and the gluten free baguette was crispy and fluffy but held up well to the filling. So good! My first banh mi in years since being gluten free.

Staff was welcoming and very helpful choosing what to get in our bowls. Always excited to find a 100% gluten free spot as someone with celiac disease. Spacious seating and very clean. Food was tasty, filling and fresh. Highly recommend for a healthy tasty quick meal!

Had the best experience here. Everything is fresh and gluten free - especially the Banh Mi was delicious! Also had great service from Elmar. We will definitely come back when we are in the area!

This location is inside the first floor of the Asian Art Museum, but you don't need a museum ticket to go to the restaurant. Asian Box is reliable for curry rice bowls, salad bowls, vegan options, and healthy lean meals. Get the Asian Street Dust as your seasoning topper. Mmhm. They also have boba. Meals can be for dine in (indoor & outdoor seating) or to go.

Saw the 5 star reviews and have to agree. Come to the museum on first Sunday of the month (free Sunday) just to eat here. Then do some museum stuff, which is also fun.

We eat at museum restaurants on a regular basis. Asian Box had good food and an efficient system for preparing and serving their offerings.
